Create a KPI

Create a KPI when a space needs a standing metric to watch, such as monthly revenue or NPS. After you create it, you land on the KPI list and can log the first update from the KPI’s page.

How to get there#

• Space home → KPIs tool card → New KPI in the page header
• Empty KPI list → Add the first KPI
• Space home empty KPIs card → Track a KPI (opens the same KPI list, where you can create)

Create a KPI#

1. Open the space and click the KPIs tool card.
2. Click New KPI (or Add the first KPI if the list is empty).
3. In the New KPI dialog, fill in the fields:
   • Name (required), for example “Monthly Recurring Revenue”
   • Unit (required), for example USD, %, or users
   • Cadence: Weekly or Monthly (defaults to Monthly)
   • Champion: optional; you can leave No champion
4. Click Create KPI.

Who can do this#

You need Edit Access or Full Access on the space. The New KPI button is hidden if you can only view or comment.

Edge cases#

Note

Name and Unit are required. If Cadence is not Weekly or Monthly, the form asks you to Choose a cadence.

After the KPI exists, you can edit its name, description, champion, cadence, and unit on its page.
